Data Stored Locally

The following data is stored only on your device and never transmitted to our servers:

  • Content you import (articles, documents, text)
  • Reading preferences (speed, font size, display settings)
  • Reading progress and history
  • App settings and customizations

Data We May Collect

We collect minimal anonymous analytics to improve the app:

  • App crash reports (via Apple's crash reporting)
  • Anonymous usage statistics (feature usage, not content)
  • Subscription status (managed by Apple)

How We Use Data

Any data we collect is used solely to:

  • Improve app stability and fix bugs
  • Understand which features are most valuable to users
  • Process subscription payments (via Apple)

Third-Party Services

Tunnel uses the following third-party services:

  • Apple App Store: For app distribution and subscription management. Subject to Apple's privacy policy.
  • Content extraction services: When you import a URL, we may use third-party services to extract the article content. Only the URL is shared with these services.

Data Retention

All your reading content and preferences are stored locally on your device. When you delete the app, this data is removed. Anonymous analytics data is retained for up to 2 years for trend analysis.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Delete all your local data by uninstalling the app
  • Opt out of analytics (coming in a future update)
  • Request information about data we may have collected
  • Request deletion of any server-side data associated with your device

Children's Privacy

Tunnel is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the app or via the App Store update notes.
